RoomReader. The conference app that reads the room.

Live Q&A where the best question rises, polls and word clouds on the big screen, and eight whole-room games. No app to download. I built it because the tools I could hire never did what a room needed, and I bring it to every conference I host.

ScreensReal, not mock-ups

Three screens, one room

Live poll results on the big screen
On the big screenThe question the room most wants, in type that reads from the back row, with the asker’s name in a broadcast-style lower third. Live polls, word clouds and instant ratings run on the same screen, in your brand colours.
RoomReader on a delegate's phone: questions ranked by backing
In their handsA QR code or six digits and they are in. Ask in your own name or anonymously, whichever the organiser allows, and back the questions you want answered.
RoomReader moderation screen: questions waiting for approval beside live questions
In the host’s handsEvery question lands in a queue first. Approve it, hold it or drop it, then send the right one to the stage at the right moment. Nothing appears on the screen that shouldn’t.
  • Live Q&A with upvoting
  • Pre-moderation on by default
  • Named or anonymous
  • Multiple sessions per event
  • Polls, word clouds, ratings, ideas

WhyThe story

Why I built my own

01

It is not a Slido clone

I hosted hundreds of Q&As with hired tools and kept hitting the same walls: questions the host could not moderate fast enough, screens that did not read from the back, and apps delegates would not install. RoomReader was built from the stage side.

02

It reads the room

Upvotes show what the room wants before anybody says it. Polls change what the speaker says next. Word clouds show the mood in five seconds. That is the name.

03

Built with AI, by a host

I built RoomReader and the games console using AI, the same way I have rebuilt the rest of my businesses. Nobody licensed it to me and nobody else’s roadmap decides what it does next.

SoonSelf-serve

Run RoomReader at events I am not hosting

A self-serve version is being built now: your own login, an event dashboard, billing, and the same Q&A, polls and games. Join the waitlist and you will be the first to know when it opens, with early pricing.

Until then, every conference I host gets it included.

No newsletter. One email when it opens, and one about pricing.

FAQBefore you book

RoomReader questions

Not answered here? Call me on 07596 851647 or send the agenda and I will come back within one working day.

Is RoomReader an app?

No. Delegates scan a QR code or type a six-digit code and it runs in their phone’s browser. There is nothing to install and nothing for your IT team to approve.

What does RoomReader do?

Live audience Q&A with upvoting and moderation, multiple-choice polls, word clouds, one-to-five ratings and an ideas wall, each in its own session so a two-day conference stays organised. A present screen for the projector, a moderation screen for the host, your branding, and a full export afterwards.

How many people can use it at once?

It has been load-tested with 250 people joining and answering at the same time with nothing lost, and the architecture serves a room of phones without straining the server.

Can we use it without booking Kevin?

Not yet. Today RoomReader is included when I host. A self-serve version for organisers, with their own login, event dashboard and billing, is being built now. Join the waitlist and you will hear first.

What is the games console?

The eight whole-room game shows I run at conferences, on the same no-download model. It runs as part of RoomReader when I host, and it is part of the plan for the self-serve product.

What about data?

Questions and responses are stored for the event and deleted thirty days afterwards unless you ask for a longer export. Delegates can ask anonymously if you allow it. Nothing is sold or shared.
