From first email to the last session
Send the agenda
The dates, the venue, the running order as it stands and what the day is for. A rough draft is fine; the earlier I see it the more I can help.
A planning call
Half an hour on the phone or on Teams. I will suggest where the day will dip, which games and which Q&A format fit, and what I need from your speakers.
A fixed quote
Within one working day: one price for the day, the preparation, RoomReader and the games, with travel shown separately. Nothing added afterwards.
Preparation
Speaker liaison, pronunciations, a script and running order, the game rounds written around your company, and a run-through with your production team.
The day
I arrive early, work with your show caller, hold the room from doors open to close, and send you every question and poll result afterwards.

What shapes the quote
Three things. How long the day is: half a day, a full day, or two or three days. How much preparation the brief needs: a running order to hold is one thing, three panels to research is another. And where it is.
What does not change the price: the games and RoomReader, which are included, and the planning call, which is free whether or not you book.

How much does it cost to hire a conference host?
I quote a fixed price per event, based on the length of the day (half day, full day or multi-day), the preparation involved (a panel to research is more work than a running order to hold) and travel. Send me the agenda and the dates and you will have a price within one working day. No hidden extras.
What is included?
A planning call, speaker liaison and pronunciation checks, a script and running order, a run-through with your production team, the day itself, RoomReader for audience Q&A and polls, and the games. Travel within the UK is quoted separately so you can see it.
How far ahead should we book?
Conference season books early. Three to six months is comfortable; I have hosted with two weeks’ notice when a diary allowed. Ask, and I will tell you straight away.
Do you work with our production company?
Yes, and I prefer it. I work from your running order, take direction from your show caller, and turn up to the run-through. A good production team and a good host make each other look better.
Do you travel?
Across the UK, and overseas by arrangement. Recent years have included Spain, Monte Carlo, Portugal and the United States.
